Biography:

Dr Richard Hopkins, MSc

Richard Hopkins took his BSc at Edinburgh University. Following that he worked in Industry as a Software designer and developer. Later he switched to an academic career obtaining his MSc and then PhD in computing science at Newcastle University. He was then a lecturer at Newcastle University, teaching Computer architecture and software engineering, and carrying out research in parallel computer architectures and theory of concurrency.
Currently Richard works with the Training, Outreach and Education team within the National eScience Centre at Edinburgh University. He has been involved in the ISSGC ’05 and ’06.
