Ischia is a quite large island on the north end of the Bay of Naples. In Ischia there are several small towns: hotel Continental and all other accommodations are located in Ischia Porto. In Ischia Porto it is possible to find many restaurants, bars and souvenir's shops.
The better way to reach Ischia Porto is by boat - aliscafo (hydrofoil) or traghetto (ferry) - from Naples. Hydrofoils leave either from Mergellina pier or Molo Beverello (40'-50' trip), ferries leave from Molo Beverello (70'-90' trip).
Just in case you want to drive your car to Ischia, we suggest you take a ferry from Pozzuoli : exit Napoli, take tangenziale (bypass) and exit at Pozzuoli, Via Campana; then follow directions to Pozzuoli's port.
The timetable strongly depends on the season. Summer timetable is not yet available, but our experience says that from any of the three places above there are connections roughly every hour from 8 am to 8 pm.
Capodichino Airport is connected by bus - alibus (each 30 min) - to Piazza Municipio; the stop is at walking distance from Molo Beverello. Tickets (3 Euro one way) must be bought before boarding.
Mergellina train station is at walking distance from Mergellina pier.

Taxis in Naples can be rented at a fixed rate (tariffe predeterminate) which must be applied if requested as soon as you board the taxi. It includes any sort of extras (luggage, night trip, holidays, ring road, etc.) and it depends on the trip.
Once in Ischia Porto, it is possible to reach Hotel Continental by bus (buy tickets before boarding), by microtaxi or walking: going along Via de Luca until Piazza degli Eroi, then turning right into Via Mazzella, after about 700m you will find the Hotel on your left hand side.
Hotel Continental Terme is approximately 20 minutes walking from the landing pier for hydrofoils, a bit more for ferries.
Tranfers (we suggest this solution to all who are not familiar with transports in Italy) : the Hotel can arrange your tranfer at request.
