M. Struwe (ETH Zürich, Switzerland): Equivariant Wave Maps
J.F. Toland (University of Bath, United Kingdom): Lectures on Real-Analytic Operator Equations

The school is thought as an Introduction to the fascinating field of Hamiltonian Partial Differential Equations, whose knowledge requires tools of both local and global Bifurcation Theory, Variational Methods, Dynamical Systems.

We will have three courses of five lectures each. We also plan to organize Seminars on current research topics.

The school will start on Monday, September 8 at 10:00 and end on Friday, September 12, at 12:30. A detailed program will be available soon.

INTERNATIONAL center FOR SCIENTIFIC CULTURE "VILLA ORLANDI"

The center is located in a 18th century Villa in Anacapri, in the island of Capri. Restored in the outmost respect of the architectonic quality, this villa is a very pleasant place in which to hold Conferences.

The villa has a conference room which holds 40 persons and a smaller conference room for 26. A wi-fi connection and six on-line Personal Computers are available for the participants.

As of today (July 28, 2008) all registred participants have a room reserved by the organization in one of the following Hotels: Bellavista, Casa Mariantonia, Senaria, Da Gelsomina.

On the web-page of Villa Orlandi there is a list of Hotels in Anacapri which are situated close to Villa Orlandi and offer special rates (not always updated). Since september is still high season in Capri, we suggest to reserve well in advance.

the harbour To reach Capri:

Fast boats for Capri (approximately 50 minutes, 17 euro) leave from Molo Beverello. Slower, larger boats (approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, 9.60 euro) leave from Calata di Massa. Look on this web site for a complete timetable.

To reach Molo Beverello:

From the airport:
- you can take a bus (it is called Alibus, starts every 20 minuts in front of arrivals and costs 3 euro) that take you to Piazza Municipio. From there you can walk to harbour (you have to cross the whole Piazza Municipio, a large square).
- you can take a taxi. There is a fixed fare ("tariffa predeterminata") of 16 euro (includes everything) that you have to ask for before you take the taxi. Here can find all the taxi fares. It might be worth to have it printed.
From the train station
- you can take a bus. There are more then one line that takes you to Molo Beverello, but we suggest bus (or tram) number 1. The ticket, which you should buy in advance in a newspaper stand, costs 1 euro. The only problem is that you have to cross all the large Piazza Garibaldi in front of the station to reach the bus stop. Bus number 1 takes you to Piazza Municipio. From the bus stop you only have to cross the road.
- you can take a taxi. In this case there is a fixed fare ("tariffa predeterminata") of 9.50 euro (includes everything) that you have to ask for before you take the taxi. Here can find all the taxi fares. It might be worth to have it printed.
If you arrive by boat or by car just contact us. We will give you direction.

To reach Calata di Massa (which is within walking distance from Molo Beverello, about 10 minutes walk): the taxi fare is the same as that for Molo Beverello. To reach it by bus you should go to Molo Beverello following the above directions, and then take a free shuttle that takes you to Calata di Massa.

To reach Anacapri from the harbour in Capri you can take a bus that leaves on the left (facing the sea) of the harbour.
