The ability to monitor and manage distributed computing resources and services is a vital part of a Grid infrastructure. In order to monitor the behavior and performance of a Grid, a novel tool called GridICE has been developed by INFN as part of the DataTAG project.
In this lecture, an introduction to distributed monitoring issues is presented as well as an architectural overview of the GridICE proposal together with a "live demo".
